Welcome to Luthier Kenny

My name is Kenneth Fox. I grew up in Louisa County, Iowa. My father was 53 when I was born so I grew up hanging out with old men. Some would say this made me the old soul I am now.  These men taught me lots of things, but how to work hard and play guitar are two of the things I'm most thankful for. I have been playing guitar since the age of 6. I cut my teeth listening to cassette tapes and trying to play along. Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins, Hank Williams, and Waylon Jennings were my heroes....right after my dad! Over the years I have continued to perfect skills on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bass. I began working on instruments out of necessity, repairing my own instruments as a teenager and began doing repair work professionally in 2012.  I have a passion for excellence in playing and repairing instruments. I struggled with seeing jobs done cheaply and quickly instead of done right the first time.  That is what inspired me to set up shop for myself, and continues to drive me to this day. All my repairs are completed with meticulous detail, resulting in a product having a fresh start. Something we can both be proud of!
